Pantone Colour(s) of the Year

Screen shot 2016-01-13 at 4.29.38 PMEvery year, Pantone chooses a colour of the year and 2016 surprised everyone by having two: Rose Quartz and Serenity.

I love seeing wonderful hues brought into decor and this pairing makes it gentle and easy. And Serenity has always been one of my favourite colours.

“Welcoming colors that psychologically fulfill our yearning for reassurance and security…Rose Quartz and Serenity demonstrate an inherent balance between a warmer embracing rose tone and the cooler tranquil blue, reflecting connection and wellness as well as a soothing sense of order and peace.” says Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director, Pantone Colour Institute.

Here are some inspirational ways to bring a touch of Rose Quartz and Serenity to your home.

"Serenity is weightless and airy, like the expanse of the blue sky above us, bringing feelings of respite and relaxation even in turbulent times."
"Rose Quartz is a persuasive yet gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure."
Easy, pretty way to add these colours to your home.
Calming blue for sweet dreams.
Kitchenaid makes a new Pantone coloured mixer every year. This year there are two to chose from!
"Whether in soft or hard surface material, the pairing of Rose Quartz and Serenity brings calm and relaxation."
I'm just in love with this Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. I just did my dining table and chairs in it and it went on so beautifully, even on fabric!
Just my favourite colour. So cozy.
I love how the pink gives this room a sweet accent.
Just lovely.
Time for tea!
"Appealing in all finishes, matte, metallic and glossy, the engaging combo joins easily with other mid-tones including greens and purples, rich browns, and all shades of yellow and pink. Add in silver or hot brights for more splash and sparkle.”
