Out and About in Toronto: Uncle Betty’s

Every year our family does dinner and a movie for the last day of school. This year it was trickier than usual but Uncle Betty’s came through and opened their new patio just in time! The owner and staff are just as great as before and optimistic about the patio being able to hopefully save their restaurant. I love their salads, my husband got the nachos (in memory of university days at Western’s Joe Kool’s), and the three kids got grilled cheese, pulled pork, and grilled chicken sandwich, all thumbs up. The Kawartha Dairy ice cream is as good as ever for the celebratory dessert. They are trying to social distance as well as they can there so you may need to be a bit patient for your table.

As for the movie, we were hoping for Mulan but settled for Call of the Wild on Netflix instead. With a computer-animated hero, it was better than I had expected? Maybe choose another movie, but definitely visit Uncle Betty’s for a fun family meal.
