Out and About in Toronto: Striation 6

I’m going to let you in on a secret. I’m not great at dieting and I hate exercising. I’m really busy as a Realtor so I often forget to eat and I live on cups of tea. Not the best combination for a healthy life. Oh yes, and I’m a stress eater. When my dad died last year, I sort of forgot to watch what I was putting in my mouth. Before I knew it, my weight had gone up, well, let’s just say “a lot”. In a panic I signed up to do a half marathon in Disneyland Paris and I also got a recommendation from a friend (thanks Kelly) about this great guy who ran a place called Striation 6. I was brand new to the world of fitness training. I went and met Sam and he was as kind and patient as he could be. He didn’t even laugh when I almost fell off a treadmill (all my own fault). I’ve been working hard for 6 months and I feel proud of my progress so far. I feel stronger and more empowered. I’ve also lost 10 lbs of body fat and can see I have added some muscle which Sam says means I’ve lost more than 10 pounds. Apparently muscle weighs more than fat (okay, sure, I’ll take that). I didn’t even gain a single pound over Christmas – a big deal for me. I’ve noticed I’m standing up straighter and my sore back from carrying around a toddler is gone. If you are looking to make a positive, healthy change in your life, give them a call.
I wrote this post before Covid but since then, Sam has come up with an amazing program called Ballast Foundation that you can do online. There are two morning time slots and it is an amazing way to start the day and lose those Covid 19!
